A team of doctors including ENT Specialist checked sugar, blood pressure and provided free dental check-up aside from giving oral hygiene advise and diet consultation to participants

Verger Delporte UAE Ltd. joined Emirates Environmental Group in celebrating World Day by combating desertification through the launching of Recycle. Reforest. Repeat 2017 Project. The project targets paper collection as recycling paper allows for sustainability through minimizing the number of tress that are being cut down to make paper and hence reducing the pressure on natural resources. The said project has attracted 78 student members as well as 9 schools and 6 companies to join its cause. By achieving our target for this project, we celebrated and demonstrated community involvement that will significantly contribute to the international efforts to combat desertification.

Since 1997, Emirates Environmental Group (EEG) started off their recycling campaigns and has seen immense growth in society participation and impactfulness. Verger Delporte UAE Ltd. is one of the many companies who participated in these campaigns that has led to the mitigation of 63,171 MTCO2e emissions, saved 95,452 m3 of landfill space and prevented 279,170 trees from being cut down, since its inception. To honor the effort, support and dedication of their partners and participants, EEG has awarded the environmental champions on a prestigious platform. We have been awarded for our efforts in Paper and Toner Recycling Campaign where we have earned a place as one of the top 10 Winners in 2016

To continue the on-going endeavors to support the green movement, Verger Delporte UAE Ltd.participated in the Paper Collection 2016 campaign organized by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG). We have managed to collect and deposit 34,790 kg of paper for recycling that constitutes 2.59% of EEG's total collection for the year. In doing so, Verger Delporte has managed to: - Mitigate 134 MTCO2 equivalence from the atmosphere, - Save 780 million BTU of energy, - Save 109 m3 of landfill space and; - Save 591 trees from being felled. It was due to the active engagement of the company and the support of its top management that helped Verger Delporte achieve its target and contributed to the overall achievement of the saidcampaign. The quantity collected in 2016 was 10.1% higher compared to the year 2015.
Our ever growing population is now witnessing constant challenges in tackling environmental issues demanding a global response to mitigate these challenges. With Verger Delporte’s interest and commitment to protect and preserve the environment, we participated in the One Root One Communi-Tree initiative organized by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG). VD qualified for the tree planting event and was able to plant 7 trees under Verger Delporte UAE on the 15th of December 2016 held in the Emirate of Umm Al Quwain.

For the fourth consecutive year Verger Delporte UAE Ltd has successfully participated in the annual Clean Up UAE campaign organized by the Emirates Environmental Group (EEG). The said event was held on the 6th of December 2016 in Maliha, Sharjah, UAE. The campaign was able to collect a staggering 110 tonnes of waste which was bagged in 146 sites across the UAE. We have no doubt that the commitment and determination of all participants has made a difference in the environment by slowly reversing its effect for the greater good.
